What I can do

The Five Pillars of Teaching and Learning approach from Outwood Grange Academies Trust emphasize the following elements:

1. **Clarity of Learning Intentions**: Teachers clearly share with students what they are learning in their lesson and why they are learning it. This includes sharing and reviewing the subject learning journeys with students.

2. **Re-cap and Recall**: Regular revisiting of prior learning ensures students remember key information from previous lessons.

3. **New Information**: Introduction and modeling of new learning in lessons are linked to the topic questions shared with students at the beginning of the lesson.

4. **Practice**: Regular opportunities are provided for students to practice, apply, and consolidate their knowledge and understanding during the lesson.

5. **Feedback**: Regular, timely feedback is provided during lessons and through written feedback, focusing on student performance, addressing misconceptions, and giving guidance for further development【4:8†source】.

These pillars aim to enhance effective teaching and support students' learning and self-regulation by making them active partners in their educational journey【4:0†source】.
