What I can do

The five pillars of effective teaching and learning from the Outwood Grange Academies Trust are as follows:

1. **Clarity of Learning Intentions**: Clearly articulate what students are meant to learn and the reason behind it. This involves sharing and reviewing the subject's learning journey with students.

2. **Re-cap and Recall**: Regularly revisiting previous lessons to ensure students remember key information.

3. **New Information**: Clearly introducing and modeling new learning that aligns with the lesson's objectives. This includes using various activities to help students develop their understanding.

4. **Practice**: Providing regular opportunities for students to practice, apply, and consolidate their knowledge and skills. This can include activities like answering exam questions, solving problems, conducting experiments, writing essays, etc.

5. **Feedback**: Offering timely and regular feedback both during lessons and through written feedback. The feedback should focus on student performance, address misconceptions, and give guidance on how to improve further. Encouraging student engagement with feedback through dedicated activities is also important【4:0†source】【4:8†source】.
