What I can do
The Five Pillars of Teaching and Learning are part of the teaching and learning approach at Outwood Grange Academies Trust. These pillars are designed to improve teaching effectiveness and support students' learning and self-regulation. The Five Pillars are as follows:
1. **Clarity of Learning Intentions:** Teachers clearly share what students are learning and why. This includes sharing and reviewing subject learning journeys with students.
2. **Re-cap and Recall:** Regular recapping is carried out to ensure students remember key information from previous lessons.
3. **New Information:** New learning is clearly introduced and modeled, with a variety of activities designed to help students develop their understanding.
4. **Practice:** Opportunities are provided for students to practice and consolidate their understanding, such as through answering exam questions, solving problems, or performing skills in practical subjects.
5. **Feedback:** Timely feedback is provided to help students understand how well they are doing, address misconceptions, and offer guidance for further development【4:0†source】【4:8†source】.
