What I can do

The five pillars for creating a lesson plan are:

1. **Clarity of Learning Intentions**: Teachers clearly share with students what they are learning in their lesson and why they are learning it. They also share and review subject learning journeys with their students.

2. **Re-cap and Recall**: Teachers regularly revisit prior learning to ensure that students remember key information from previous lessons.

3. **New Information**: Teachers introduce and model new learning clearly. Lessons are linked to the topic question shared with students at the start, using a variety of activities to help students develop their new understanding.

4. **Practice**: Teachers create regular opportunities for students to practice, apply, and consolidate their understanding during the lesson. This can include activities like answering exam questions, solving problems, conducting experiments, writing essays, or practicing skills in practical subjects.

5. **Feedback**: Teachers provide regular, timely feedback both during lessons and through written comments. Feedback focuses on student performance, addresses misconceptions, and gives clear guidance on how to progress. Students are encouraged to engage with all feedback in dedicated Student Response Time (SRT) activities【4:8†source】.
