What I can do

The five pillars of teaching and learning from the document are as follows:

1. **Clarity of Learning Intentions**: Teachers clearly share with students what they are learning in their lesson and why they are learning it. Teachers share and review subject learning journeys with their students【4:0†source】.

2. **Re-cap and Recall**: Teachers regularly revisit prior learning to ensure students remember key information from previous lessons【4:8†source】.

3. **New Information**: Teachers clearly introduce and model new learning in lessons linked to the topic. A variety of activities are devised to enable students to develop their new understanding【4:8†source】.

4. **Practice**: Teachers devise regular opportunities to practice, apply, and consolidate students' understanding during the lesson. This may include answering exam questions, solving problems, carrying out experiments, writing essays, or performing skills in practical subjects【4:8†source】.

5. **Feedback**: Teachers provide regular, timely feedback both during lessons and through written feedback. Feedback focuses on students' progress, addresses misconceptions, and provides clear guidance on further development. Students are encouraged to engage with all feedback in dedicated Student Response Time (SRT) activities【4:8†source】.

These pillars are designed to enhance effective teaching and support students' learning and self-regulation.
