What I can do

The five pillars for creating a lesson plan according to the document from Outwood Grange Academies Trust are as follows:

1. **Clarity of Learning Intentions**: Teachers share with students what they are learning in their lesson and why it is important. They also review the subject’s learning journeys with students to ensure clarity【4:0†source】.

2. **Re-cap and Recall**: Regularly revisiting prior learning helps ensure that students remember key information from previous lessons【4:8†source】.

3. **New Information**: Teachers introduce and model new learning in lessons linked to the topic question. Activities are designed to enable students to develop their new understanding【4:8†source】.

4. **Practice**: Opportunities are provided for students to practice, apply, and consolidate their understanding during the lesson【4:8†source】.

5. **Feedback**: Teachers give regular, timely feedback during lessons and through written comments. Feedback focuses on students' progress, misconceptions, and guidance for further development. Students are encouraged to engage with all feedback in dedicated Student Response Time (SRT) activities【4:8†source】.

These pillars form the foundation for lesson planning to enhance effective teaching and support student learning【4:0†source】.
