What I can do

The five pillars structure for lesson plans from Outwood Grange Academies Trust includes the following elements【4:0†source】:

1. **Clarity of Learning Intentions**: Teachers clearly share with students what they are learning in their lesson and why they are learning it. This includes sharing and reviewing subject learning journeys.

2. **Re-cap and Recall**: Teachers regularly revisit prior learning to ensure students remember key information from previous lessons【4:8†source】.

3. **New Information**: Teachers introduce and model new learning linked to the topic question shared with students at the lesson's start. A variety of activities is used to help students develop their understanding【4:8†source】.

4. **Practice**: There are regular opportunities for students to practice, apply, and consolidate their understanding during the lesson, such as answering exam questions, solving problems, or performing practical skills【4:8†source】.

5. **Feedback**: Teachers provide regular, timely feedback during lessons and through written feedback. This feedback focuses on student performance, addresses misconceptions, and gives guidance on further development【4:8†source】.

These pillars are designed to enhance effective teaching and support students' learning and self-regulation.
